Frontier Airlines will launch flights to the Vail ski area for the first time ever in December, making it easier to get to the resort in time for ski season.
The low-cost carrier will launch flights to the Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) from Dallas, Denver, and San Francisco, Frontier confirmed to Travel + Leisure. The new flights will take off on Dec. 16, Dec. 19, and Dec. 21, respectively.
These new routes join more than a dozen others as Frontier looks to expand in time for the winter holiday season.
“Whether consumers are looking to lounge under a palm tree, ski through fresh powder, or explore some of the country’s top metropolitan areas, this expansion of our network offers exciting options at an unmatched value,” Josh Flyr, the vice president of network and operations design at Frontier Airlines, said in a statement. “From the West Coast to New England, and from the Rocky Mountains to Florida’s beaches, we look forward to connecting even more consumers with our ultra-low fare flight options.”
Frontier will fly to EGE twice each week from both Dallas and Denver, and once each week from San Francisco. EGE sits about 30 minutes from the Vail ski resort and about an hour and a half from Aspen.
In addition to launching new flights in Colorado, Frontier will also start flights in December between:
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and both Miami and Tampa
- Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (BTV) and both Orlando and Tampa
- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and Palm Beach
- Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and Palm Beach
- Denver International Airport (DEN) and Palm Springs
- Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Tampa
- George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and both Los Angeles and Miami
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Houston, Portland, Seattle, and Salt Lake City
- Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Fort Myers, Tampa, Palm Beach, Sarasota
- Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) and Denver and San Francisco
- Portland International Jetport (PWM) and Tampa
To celebrate the new routes, travelers can purchase one-way flights starting as low as $19. To take advantage, travelers must book by 11:59 p.m. ET on Oct. 7 and travel between Dec. 12 and Feb. 28, 2025. The promotion excludes blackout dates from Dec. 21 to 31, Jan. 1, 2025, to 7, Feb. 13 to 14, and Feb. 16 to 17.
As a low-cost carrier, Frontier charges passengers for all extras from seat assignments to baggage allowance. However, the airline recently started offering more inclusive fares like its new economic business class, called BizFare, and its “UpFront Plus” option, which allows travelers to purchase seats in the first two rows with a blocked middle seat.
Earlier this year, Frontier also eliminated nearly all change and cancellation fees.
