River cruise line Uniworld is launching its first-ever women-only cruise next year, inviting female travelers to embark on an eight day journey through France.

The trip, which will include just one departure, will take place from Aug. 24, 2025, to Aug. 31, according to Uniworld. The voyage will start in Arles, about an hour from Marseilles, and cruise both the Rhône and Saône rivers up to Lyon.

“A passionate team of women came together to create an unforgettable week, filled to the brim with experiences created specially for this sailing,” Uniworld wrote as part of the trip. “Guests on this inaugural themed cruise can expect to immerse themselves in France on new excursions, partake in breathtaking Nights Out, mingle at cocktail parties, laugh and dance along to surprise entertainment, and receive special gifts to remind them of this one-of-a-kind trip for years to come.

“Bring your mothers, sisters, adult daughters, best friends or any special women in your life, or embark on a solo adventure where you’re destined to make new friends during a week of exploration, connection, immersion, relaxation and laughter,” the cruise line added.

The women-only cruise will include stops in the walled city of Avignon, the village of Viviers, the villages of Tournon and Tain-l’Hermitage, and the town of Beaune in addition to Lyon and Arles. Travelers will have the chance to take part in walking tours, visit an aqueduct, enjoy a wine tasting, and go on a bike tour.

Travelers can extend their trip with optional pre- and post-cruise land tours in Cassis on the Mediterranean coast, or in either Paris or Athens.

The trip includes all onboard meals and alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks as well as daily excursions, free Wi-Fi, included gratuities, and the use of bicycles and walking sticks.

Like most river cruises, Uniworld (voted one of Travel + Leisure readers’ favorite river cruise lines for 2024) offers the chance to dock right in town and walk off the ship without crowds or hassle. River cruises are often all-inclusive with everything from excursions to drinks included in the upfront price.
