Booking your next flight with United Airlines just got a lot more rewarding — but you’ll have to act fast.

“Did you know that simply booking a trip can increase your happiness?” the airline shared about the promotion on its website. “Today only, to celebrate National Plan for Vacation Day, earn bonus miles on flights booked to 25 different destinations.”

United’s “Plan Your Vacation promo,” which is only valid for bookings made today, Jan. 28, at 11:59 p.m. ET, offers double the miles on paid economy tickets to participating international cities. Travel can be booked anytime until Nov. 15, 2025, on any flights operated by United or United Express to these destinations:

  • Africa: Marrakech (RAK)
  • Asia: Beijing (PEK), Cebu (CEB), Dubai (DXB), Hong Kong (HKG), Kaohsiung (KHH), Manila (MNL), Nagoya (NGO), Osaka (KIX), Singapore (SIN), Ulaanbaatar (UBN)
  • Europe: Malaga (AGP), Bilbao (BIO), Dubrovnik (DBV), Faro (FAO), Madeira (FNC), Nuuk (GOH), Porto (OPO), Ponta Delgada (PDL), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Palermo (PMO), Tenerife (TFS)
  • North America: Puerto Escondido (PXM)
  • Oceania: Christchurch (CHC), Melbourne (MEL)

Basic economy is specifically excluded from this promotion, and only the base fare of a ticket, which excludes government taxes and fees, counts toward the bonus mile earnings.  In addition, MileagePlus members must use promo code “PVAC25” before booking these flights on United’s website or app.

Base-level members typically earn 5 miles per dollar on United flights, though Premier elite members can earn up to 11 miles per dollar on their purchase. With this deal, travelers can score at least 10 miles per dollar on their next international ticket with United.

For instance, a round-trip ticket between Newark (EWR) and Faro, Portugal, this summer costs $1,125, and this itinerary would earn nearly 10,000 miles if booked by the end of the day today,

All told, it’s possible to earn up to 50,000 bonus miles with United’s latest deal, and they will be credited to accounts within eight weeks, according to the airline.
