For Oklahomans and beyond, there’s a splashy new must-see attraction in the state capital.

As of Feb. 21, Okana Resort & Indoor Waterpark—with a 4.5-acre adventure lagoon, 404 guest rooms, restaurants, shops, and more—is officially open. The $400 million development is located next to the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City’s Horizons District, a bustling new entertainment and cultural center. The resort is owned by the Chickasaw Nation, and throughout the property, visitors will find thoughtful nods to Native American cultures and heritage. The crown jewel of Okana is, of course, its massive 100,000-square-foot indoor water park—the largest in the region.

"The vision of Okana Resort & Indoor Waterpark is now a reality, bringing an incredible landmark right to the heart of Oklahoma City,” said Ken Leone, the managing director of the resort, in a press release obtained by Travel + Leisure. “We believe Okana is not only a source of joy and recreation for travelers but also a valuable asset for our community, offering exhilarating water adventures, world-class dining, and entertainment. We’re thrilled to open our doors to both guests and locals to experience the magic of Okana.”

The water park will be open year-round, and the ambient temperature will always be set to a balmy 82 degrees Fahrenheit. There will be no shortage of things to do—Okana is tricked out with 15 different kinds of water slides, including raft slides, body slides, and tube slides. But if adrenaline rushes aren't your thing, there's also a wave pool, lazy river, kiddie pool, roomy luxury cabanas, and an adults-only pool. Guests who are 21 years of age and older can enjoy other adults-only spaces and amenities like a warming pool, swim-up bars, as well as a tanning pool.

There will also be a 4.5-acre outdoor adventure lagoon, complete with an inflatable obstacle course, that's expected to open just in time for summer. The lagoon will have sandy shores as well as a "fly pool," where guests can zip line directly into the water. When it opens, it will be the fourth-largest pool in the U.S.

Other fun features of the resort include a 20,000-square-foot family entertainment center with an arcade, conference center, day spa, retail shops, and three outdoor event spaces that can host up to 3,000 people. If all that fun works up an appetite, never fear—Okana has 13 different dining venues. Highlights include the Jack Rabbit gastropub, which specializes in "elevated comfort food," and the Smokehouse Social, which has dishes like burnt-end queso and smoked pork ribs on the menu.

As for overnight guests, there are 10 spacious room and suite types on the property, ranging from 420 square feet to 720 square feet in size. Each unit offers Native American-inspired decor, a large TV, and views of either the Oklahoma River, adventure lagoon, or city skyline.

Daytime waterpark passes at Okana Resort & Indoor Waterpark start at $40, while rooms start at $249 per night.
